To provide regulatory governance advice to stakeholders, interpreting and implementing business requirements. To research, draft and review governance documentation including regulatory returns and submissions to ensure compliance with the applicable statutory, regulatory and corporate governance requirements for boards and management committees of legal entities. To review and opine on draft legislation, regulatory discussion papers and internal policies and processes.
Provide specialist advice and guidance to internal stakeholders on Standard Bank Group (SBG) and The Standard Bank of South Africa Limited (SBSA) delegation of authority (DOA) and certificate of authority (COA) processes to ensure alignment to the various statutory and regulatory requirements.Draft and review COA taking into account the principles of the SBG DOA Framework.Draft and review governance documentation, including but not limited to the preparation of external questionnaires, forms, regulatory applications and returns, letters, policies, processes and standard operating procedures in collaboration with other Governance team members.Review and opine on draft legislation, regulatory discussion papers and internal policies and processes in order to provide input from a regulatory governance perspective in line with governance best practice.Conduct research into governance best practices and regulatory developments and carry out of benchmarking exercises in order to mature the Governance capability within SBG and ensure alignment to leading practices. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Degree in Business Commerce, LegalExperience Required 5-7 years working experience asan expert in Corporate Governance or Compliance or Legal with good knowledge of the full dimensions of the field, but deep expertise in the relevant area of specialisation. Regulatory environment savvy, with the proven ability to advise employees across multiple countries and business areas.
