Develop and manage the budget for trauma care initiatives, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently and effectively to meet the health and safety needs of the workforce.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate trauma care strategies with overall health and safety plans, ensuring a cohesive approach to risk management and employee well-being.Training and DevelopmentDesign and implement training programs for medical and non-medical staff on trauma response, emergency care, and basic life support to enhance on-site response capabilities.Mentor and coach medical staff within the trauma care team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.Stakeholder Engagement and CommunicationServe as the primary medical liaison between the mining operations and external healthcare providers, emergency services, and regulatory bodies, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.Provide empathetic support and communication to employees and their families in the aftermath of traumatic incidents, ensuring access to psychological support services as needed. Reporting and ComplianceEnsure rigorous documentation and reporting of all trauma cases, treatments, and outcomes, maintaining compliance with local health regulations and company policies.Lead the analysis of trauma incidents to identify trends, risks, and areas for improvement, and develop strategies to mitigate future incidents. Qualifications:MBChBDiploma in Emergency Care (DIPEC) (Not essential)Masters in Business Administration or similar management qualification (Not essential)Valid registration with HPCSAExperience 5 to 10 years in a medical management positionExtensive experience in trauma care, with a preference for experience in high-risk industries such as miningStrong leadership skills and experience in managing medical teams.Certificate of Fitness
