This position is based at our Wessels Mine which represents one of the largest manganese reserves in South Africa.WHAT SOUTH32 OFFER:Annual short-term incentive bonus that recognizes both your individual performance and the overall success of the business.Eligible employees will receive an employer contribution towards the company-elected retirement fund.South 32 will support assistance for part-time studies aligned to role requirements and business needs at accredited institutions to eligible employees.ABOUT THE ROLE:This role is a permanent full-time position. As atechnician control and instrumentation, you will be responsible to safely execute maintenance work according to prescribed standards .Other key responsibilities include, but aren't limited to:• Ensure optimal asset life through application of good maintenance practices;• Execute all maintenance work in a safe manner;• Identify and report stoppages or work requirements• Perform lockouts and make the work area safe;• Test and commission equipment prior to handover;• Route Completed Work Orders to the Supervisor;• PLC programing and commissioning of new installations/projects;• Fault finding/ localising on the plants by using the PLC;• SCADA configuration for new equipment and upgrades as required;• Attend to breakdowns effectively minimizing down time;• Building/Installation of new PLC networks (Profibus DP) to provide IO for automation of existing and new equipment;• Keep all PLC and Adroit records and drawings updated.ABOUT YOU:You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:• Must have a minimum of 3 years' experience in maintenance ;• Knowledge about PLC's and SCADA , ethernet and profibus networks ;Qualifications for this role are:• N6 Technical Certificate;• Valid drivers license.South32 is committed to building and maintaining an inclusive and diverse workforce that reflects the communities in which we operate.
