Murray & Roberts Cementation invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Accountant Site to be placed at Ivan Plats Platreef mine, in Mokopane, Limpopo. The successful candidate will report to the Financial Manager.The company will provide remuneration and benefits relevant and appropriate to the position. Preference will be given to Historically Disadvantaged South African (HDSA) candidates.Applications only open to South African Citizens / Permanent Residents.
The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to: · Effective supervision of the Administrators / Clerks under area of responsibility
· Effective and timely communication of discrepancies identified
· Liaise regularly with Management Accountants to gain understanding of contract accounting requirements · Proactive financial risk identification and mitigation
· Maintain and update the site asset register
· Accurately compile project financial reports for consolidation into the monthly review pack Prepare accurate quarterly budget / assessments
· Oversee the project's administrator's daily tasks (site specific task)
· Verify the Payroll vs Time and Attendance reports
· Effective self and team management in alignment with M&RC's values and leadership initiatives
Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:
· Grade 12 or NQF Level 4 equivalent
· Relevant Accounting Degree / National Diploma at NQF Level 6 MS Office proficient [Excel]
· Exposure to JD Edwards or similar ERP system advantageous
· Exposure to Blick or similar time and attendance system Valid EB Driver's License
· Ability to supervise a team of Administrators / Clerks
· Ability to work with people at all levels and cross functionally Good English verbal and written communication skills
Sound verbal and written communication skills in English Suitable candidates must have the following work experience: At least 5 years of experience working with time and attendance, stores/inventory, controlling CAT A and B payroll input, balancing of general ledger accounts, reconciliations, fixed asset registers on JDE and provisions and accruals. All appointments will be done in line with our employment equity strategy.
