Purpose of the Role
The ICT Unified Communications Officer is a technical leadership role focusing on Company’s communication ICT infrastructure, which includes networks (LAN, WAN, Wifi), hardware, telephony, mobility for all Ingrain sites. This position is responsible for leading the processes that deal with the design, planning, implementation, maintenance (health) and improvements to the Ingrain communications ICT landscape
Key Responsibilities:
Ensures that communications services and components meet and continue to meet all their agreed performance targets and service levels according to the Company Policy and / or Service level agreements
Monitors networks to ensure network availability to all system users and must ensure the performance of the necessary maintenance to support network availability. This includes the investigation of all breaches of communication availability targets and service non-availability, with the instigation of remedial activities
Establish monitoring tools to current internet trends of computer viruses and malware to determine suitable protection of all systems.
Implement and maintain preventive, detective and corrective measures (especially up-to-date security patches and virus control) across the enterprise to protect information systems and technology from malicious software (e.g., malware, ransomware, viruses, worms, spyware, spam).
Ensure that endpoints (e.g., laptop, desktop, server, and other mobile and network devices or software) are secured at a level that is equal to or greater than the defined security and privacy requirements for the information processed, stored or transmitted.
The assessment of organisational vulnerabilities through the design and execution of penetration tests that demonstrate how an adversary can either subvert the organisation's security goals or achieve specific adversarial objectives.
Perform risk assessments and execute tests on data processing systems to ensure functioning of data processing activities and security measures
Contributes to the development of solution architectures in specific business, infrastructure or functional areas. Identifies and evaluates alternative architectures and the trade-offs in cost, performance and scalability.
The establishment of working relationships based on collaboration, trust, and open communication to encourage co-innovation and service improvement with suppliers.
The management of the performance multiple suppliers using a set of agreed metrics.
The proactive engagement of suppliers for mutual benefit to resolve operational incidents, problems, poor performance and other sources of conflict. The creation of clear escalation paths for discussing and resolving issues.
The management of change to the service infrastructure including service assets, configuration items and associated documentation.
Ensure compliance with Assets management policy by adhering toAll purchases of communication equipment are valid and compliant with policy
Maintain optimum stock levels
All information and reports are generated of the ICT assets

Managing the installation, configuration and commissioning of communication systems and networks.
Capital cost and Budget Management in accordance with the policies & procedures
Develops ICT Unified Communications project plans and is responsible for the deliverables.
Liaising with business steering committees and subject experts on the options and processes involved with maintaining optimum performance of the ICT Unified Communications and ensuring co-ordination in all project areas across all ICT functional areas.
Ensure corporate governance is prioritised. Which includes server hardware and software asset management [ensuring roadmap for replacements and upgrades] and audit compliance, Disaster Recovery and Security regarding the Information & Technology Unified Communications.

Provide leadership and technical direction to team members and consultants

Drafting reports and dashboards, logically arranging and presenting graphical and, quantitative and qualitative information on the subject and formulating opinions and recommendations on observed trends

Minimum experience & qualifications required
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related discipline with 10+ years of experience.

Skills required
Proven track record in delivering carrier grade network connectivity to local and regional sites across the SADC region. Technologies include:Networking (MPLS, LAN, WAN, WIFI)
Routers (Cisco iOS and iOS XE)
Switches (Cisco iOS, Cisco Nexus NX-OS, Dell MXL)
Firewalls (Cisco ASA, Checkpoint, Juniper SRX)
Wireless (Cisco APs)
Management Systems (SolarWinds, Wireshark, Cisco WLC, Cisco ACS)
Technologies - VLAN, VPN, VC, Skype, GSM, APN
Applications - DNS, DHCP, LDAP, SSL Certificates
Basic Linux and Windows CLI commands and the ability to run and analysis of packet capture

Ability to deliver safe and secure company communications to all devices.
Good working knowledge and experience on external and internal security management including penetration testing, breach control and environment availability
Proven track record managing service providers and including contract negotiations and solution benchmarking
Demonstrated record of achievement in the management and maintenance of the systems and functions under the key tasks above
Demonstrated problem solving ability including advanced OS & applications diagnostic in an AD domain environment
Experience in managing a Team of ICT Engineers/Specialist
Excellent oral communication skills and ability to relate technical information in a non-technical manner
Good Communication and Interpersonal Skills coupled with an ability to liaise with people of diverse backgrounds at all levels
Demonstrate a positive mind set, high levels of character and integrity, and a keen awareness of continuous improvement
Advise and collaborate with others to develop strong, positive working relationships across all levels of the organisation to drive success of projects and efforts
Internal and External Audit compliance.
