Traffic Sign Installer Specialist

Summary Statement Incumbents in this class serve as lead workers for roadway signing projects. Since this position will be in an on-call rotation the selected candidate must live within 45 minutes of the Bear Sign Yard facility at 250 Bear Christiana Rd, Bear, DE 19701. Oversees crews installing signs or pavement markings (tape or paint). Prepares sites for sign installation. Determines proper layouts for intersection markings. Operates hand and power tools such as air hammers, pipe installers and pullers, saws, etc. Operates motor vehicles, tape machines, hand rollers and air compressors. Submits daily reports to account for materials, man-hours and equipment used. Maintains inventories of supplies. Provides training for less experienced installers. Knowledge of interpreting blueprints, schematics or technical drawings. Possession of a valid Driver's License (not suspended, revoked or cancelled, or disqualified from driving.
