Technician

RESPONSIBILITIES:Assess, diagnose, and repair IT Hardware and related equipment.Desktop repairs – Hardware troubleshooting & repairs to desktop systems.Accurately diagnose and assess repair required.Complete component testing, completing repairs and/or replacements as required.Diagnose and complete Notebook, Mobile and Tablet phone repairs.Conduct Peripheral testing for vendor escalation including printers, digital cameras and CCTV.Conduct Software recovery & repairs (including all OS's).Troubleshoot communications devices including network LAN's and WAN's.Maintain job card updates.Provide and manage customer feedback on repairs.Provide both telephonic and on-site support to customers and managers.REQUIREMENTS: A minimum of 3 years of IT technical experience.Sound understanding of networking.Solid Windows operating system (OS) knowledge.Solid knowledge of Windows processing hardware.Excellent computer literacy in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.Experience working in a customer services environment will be an advantage.Must have own driver's license.Local and Interprovincial travel.SKILLS:Matric with mathematics is essential.A+Must be able to troubleshoot communications devices.Able to work in a well-organized, efficient, and meticulous manner.Excellent communication skills, writing skills, and people skills are required.Excellent IT technical skills are required.Conflict management skills.Quick and continuous learner of new software tools and processes.Service quality orientated.Customer focused.Excellent time management i.e., deadline driven, able to plan and prioritize a high workload.Excellent administration skills.Understanding of basic finance.Good written and verbal communication skills to provide feedback to customers.Ability to be tactful and diplomatic.Able to work as a team and collaborate with others as well as to work independently.Good analysis and evaluation ability.
