Role responsibilities: Deliver a full range of corporate tax services in compliance with laws and regulations within specific timeframe. Provide support for local (South Africa), Africa, and Middle East taxation matters. (In certain instances working closely with tax advisors) Preparation of Provisional and Income Tax returns of South Africa, Africa and Middle Eastern entities. Support and coordination of tax compliance/advice for international subsidiaries and branches from third party service providers. Preparation and/or review of monthly income tax and deferred tax computations. Preparation, submission and/or review of dividend tax returns. Preparation, submission and/or review of VAT and WHT returns. Preparation of GL account reconciliations on a monthly basis very important. Preparation of reconciliation between revenue and billings. Providing advice to the business in relation to domestic and international tax issues. Providing advice to the payroll and people departments such as rudimentary domestic payroll tax and expat tax issues. Contributing to the successful delivery of tax solutions for the business (especially as part of commercial review process) by assisting in tax planning opportunities and mitigation of tax risk; Responsible for following up on financial proceedings, and ensuring tasks are completed on schedule relating to relevant accounts. Responsibility for a number of countries tax compliance and risks. Assist in international tax planning initiatives and special projects. Assessment of tax positions and interpretation of our business model Keep up with new tax developments across South Africa, Africa and Middle East. Exposure to transfer pricing will be beneficial. Assistance with year end tax disclosure preparation for financial statement purposes and tax rate reconciliations. Dealing with the auditors on all countries regarding tax matters for year end and statutory financial statement purposes Minimum of an Honours degree in Commerce; Technically strong with solid knowledge and experience in SA and Africa; Experience in Middle Eastern countries (Advantageous) Minimum of 3-5 years' experience as a Tax Accountant Advanced Microsoft Excel (Mandatory) Registration with relevant professional tax institutions, or professional body We believe that a diverse workforce is key to our business success.
