Supervisor (Transfer Station)

The posts of Supervisor (Transfer Station) are interchangeable within departments at the direction of 
the Deputy Head.
Job Purpose To operate the refuse transfer station effectively. 

Key Responsibility Areas • Ensure effective running of the transfer station.
• Operate the static compactor and liaising with drivers.
• Supervise the hitching up and disengaging of full and empty containers to and from compact and ensure safe operation.
• Ensure that container are ready for transporting by supervising the placement of the cages on the container.
• Keep record of number of containers filled each day.
• Supervision and control of staff.

Preferred Requirements • Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Operations Management or Road Transportation or equivalent.
• 3 years relevant experience with 1 year supervisory experience.
