Job purpose
The Strategy Analyst will provide strategic planning and problem-solving support to the organization, as part of the Strategic Projects team within the Strategy Unit.
Duties and responsibilities The Strategy Analyst will: Work with all team members across the business, to define and build the organizational and analytical processes that will drive the strategy function for Lexis Nexis South Africa.Execute on pillar workplans and deliver on key analyses and projects, including multiple types of market analysis, competitive analysis, internal financial analysis, financial modeling, and scenario planningMaintain and update strategic scorecard and other tools to assess and drive high-quality execution of business strategyPerform certain analyses independently, as needed Analytical/Decision-Making Responsibilities: Strong analytical skills, including data analysis and problem-solvingSupports the development of a point of view on the current state of the practice by overseeing and conducting research, interviews, and fact-based quantitative analysisSupports identification of key market dynamics that will impact the business over the agreed upon planning horizonDetermine appropriate decision-making processes to answer critical questionAwareness of key economic and capital markets issues as well as other business trends that could impact the organisationGeneral understanding of the key business and financial drivers that determine the organisation's successProject management skills and experienceStrong written and oral communication skills (including presentations) as well as listening and interpretation skillsAdvanced aptitude in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPointAbility to work well in a team environmentHigh degree of professionalism and integrityHigh energy and results orientedExperience: Experience in a professional environment with strategy consulting experience preferred.Exposure to a wide range of data and analytical concepts and methodologies, including:Competitive analysisCustomer needs analysis / primary researchFinancial modeling and valuationPortfolio review (e.g. where to invest, where to divest)Forecasting / econometricsSelf-Management Act with IntegrityPortray act of Self confidenceBe a Self-starter and quick learnerProblem-solving and solutions orientated Display well organizing skillsAbility to structure self and surrounding environmentStrong achievement, orientation and ambition to perform on sales targetDisplay Determination and tenacity valuesPresentabilityQualifications University/Bachelor's degree in a related subject – e.g. Finance, Economics, etc.MBA advantageousWork in a way that works for you We promote a healthy work/life balance across the organization, with various flexible and remote working options available to employees.
