POSITION OVERVIEW: We are seeking a meticulous and proactive Stock Controller to manage our pharmaceutical inventory effectively. The ideal candidate will work under the guidance of our pharmacist and be responsible for attending to the procurement, storage, distribution, and inventory management of pharmaceuticals within our organization. The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Reports to: Pharmacist/Chief Medical Officer KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels by conducting regular stock counts and reconciling any discrepancies.Coordinate with finance department to ensure timely and accurate replenishment of stock, avoiding depletion and excess stock.Analyze admission trends, customer demand, and market conditions to forecast future inventory needs and make informed purchasing decisions.Collaborate with clinical team to ensure that stock levels align with anticipated volumes. Maintain efficient inventory control procedures, including stock rotation, first-in-first-out (FIFO) principles, and proper storage practices.Conduct regular cycle counts and stock takes to ensure compliance with inventory management policies and procedures. Monitor and track slow-moving or obsolete stock and take appropriate actions to minimize financial losses.Accurately update reports on stock levels, stock movements, and stock valuation on a regular basis for management review.Continuously improve inventory management processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and optimize stock availability.Skills and Qualifications Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve inventory-related issues.Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.Attention to detail and accuracy in performing stock counts, reconciliations, and data entry tasks.Proficiency in using inventory management software and systems.Good communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external suppliers.Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changes in demand or supply.Knowledge of inventory control principles and best practices.Strong mathematical skills for inventory calculations and analysis.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Physical stamina to perform tasks that may involve lifting and moving heavy items.Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent qualification.Previous experience in stock control, inventory management, or a related field is preferred.Familiarity with inventory management software and systems.Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.Knowledge of basic accounting principles and inventory valuation methods.Good understanding of supply chain management concepts.Excellent numerical and mathematical skills.This is an excellent opportunity to join a fast-growing start-up, really make a difference in the company's trajectory, and grow professionally whilst transforming healthcare.
