Role Expectation/ Deliverables A senior Project Manager is required to lead the execution of the solution of the Annual Financial Statements Utility project.
The Project Manager will have accountability for managing the project end to end and will include includes the following responsibilities:
Project Planning Planning and Defining ScopeLeading project planning sessionsActivity Planning and SequencingManaging project progress and adapt work as requiredEnsure that the project is delivered on-time, within scope and within budgetAssist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibilityManage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costsTrack project performance, specifically to analyse the successful completion of short and long-term goalsDevelop comprehensive project plans to be shared relevant stakeholdersProject Schedule Ensuring project meet deadlinesDeveloping SchedulesTime EstimatingCreating Charts and SchedulesDevelop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progressResource Planning Ensure resource availability and allocationCoordinating external and internal resourcesManaging project teamTeam LeadershipCoordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projectsDelegate project tasks based on team members' individual strengths, skill sets and experience levelsStakeholder Engagement Managing relationships with stakeholdersStrategic InfluencingBusiness PartneringProject Documentation Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, as per Absa's requirementsRAID Management (Risks, assumptions, issues, dependencies) Identifying RAIDsManaging and analysing RAIDsDesigning mitigation plansProject Governance and Reporting Ensuring good project governance including set up and managing of Steering Committee and Operations CommitteeMonitoring and Reporting on project progressKey Competencies Proficiency in managing complex data type projects in financial industryUnderstanding of Annual Financial StatementsExperience in resolving complex business, system, change management and program/project delivery challengesExperience in project management of projects and large matrix teams responsible for scope, schedule, quality resource management, stakeholder management, etc.Strong experience in facilitating resolution of cross-team integrated topics.Strong expertise in project delivery methods, tools and templatesSkilled in written, verbal, and presentation of business communication when interacting with stakeholders in a professional services business environment, including articulating technical concepts to business stakeholders and driving development efforts with stakeholders.Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise 10-15 years of experience managing large scale and complex projects.5-8 years financial services industry experience is preferablePossess strong leadership, able to motivate & guide othersExcellent communication and presentation skillsAble to engage and communicate with stakeholdersExperience in working within a multi-disciplinary team project environment.Experience in both traditional/waterfall project management as well as agile project management, certification in both would be preferred.Operational Business Hours, Expected Working Location •Mon-Fri 08:00-17:00 GMT+2, excluding public holidays
