KAMOA COPPER SA is looking for Senior Superintendent I, Acid Plant Production
The Kamoa Copper Mine, is a joint venture between Ivanhoe Mines (39.6%), Zijin Mining Group (39.6%), Crystal River Global Limited (0.8%) and the Government of the Democratic Republic of Congo (20%). It's a very large, near-surface, flat-lying, stratiform copper deposit with adjacent prospective exploration areas within the Central African Copperbelt, at approximately 25 kilometers west of the town of Kolwezi and about 270 kilometers west of the provincial capital of Lubumbashi.

To ensure, organise, coordinate, and oversee the safe and effective operation of acid production equipment according to production targets
You will have the following:
2 years' relevant Acid production experience
Fluency in English preferred. Swahili, French or Mandarin advantageous
DRC Experience is preferred.
You will have advanced skills and knowledge in:
Operating Acid plant machines or equipment
Troubleshooting (to determine causes of operating errors and establishing remedial actions)
Understanding Smelting methodologies specific to the Acid plant
Production and Smelter Standard Operating Procedures
Ability to deal with emergencies in the plant
DRC Legislature knowledge
Technical Skills should include:
Metallurgy knowledge
Engineering knowledge

Big-scale sulfuric acid production

Ensure and maintain the acid production equipment and facilities within the Acid Plant.
Support implementation of Acid production equipment & commissioning
Ensure normal operation, maintenance and transformation of acid production equipment and facilities within the Acid Plant
Drive effective problem-solving and continuous improvement
Oversee the production in an environmentally safe manner
