Job Description The Senior Environmental Consultant will be responsible for the management and implementation of medium projects to large projects in Africa.
In fulfilling this responsibility the Environmental Consultant will be responsible for managing environmental impact assessment processes and reporting, public and stakeholder participation, authority consultation and project administration. They should also be able to undertake site audits as part of a due diligence process for projects across Africa.
The Senior Environmental Consultant should demonstrate knowledge of project management (methodology, proposal/report compilation, budget control, timely completing of project, write-offs presentation skills etc.), have the ability to network with clients, problem solve where appropriate, work as part of a team and independently. 5 years' plus experience in an environmental consultancyB.Sc. (Hons) or Master's in environmental or Natural sciences or similar qualificationMust be able to proactively manage elements of an EIA project, liaise with clients, specialists and authorities, manage quality assurance/client feedback and ensure he/she meets budgetary, quality, safety and timeframe targetsMust have a sound knowledge of environmental legislation and the EIA processMust be able to sustain client and stakeholder relationshipsMust be able to manage elements of EIA projectsMust have worked on projects within South Africa Must be a strong team player.Mining experience would be beneficial.
