Purpose of the Role
Responsible person will be required to develop, implement, monitor and maintain efficient automation controls processes with the use of FIS and other equipment monitoring technology in addition to programming of Robot’s, Welding Equipment, PLC’s and other equipment to ensure optimum shop performance.
Key Responsibilities:
(Stamping Responsibilities)
Knowledge and understanding of ISO 9000 / ISO 14000 / TS 16949
Initiates measures to improve equipment performance, methods and quality
Manage all software and hardware installed on different types of continuous process equipment while ensuring minimal down times, proper documentation and version control
Program MIG Welding robots using off line and on line methods while commissioning and overseeing the installation of equipment
Assists in creating, modifying and revising automation controls instructions and process flow documentation.
Automotive Assembly Process Knowledge And Experience
Ability to read blue prints, AutoCAD, EPlan, interpret and modify electrical schematics
6 Sigma Certified/Trained
Performs other work-related duties as assigned
Frames Responsibilities:
Drive fators such as Safety, Quality and Productivity, to ensure objectives are met through following and executing standardized maintenance work
Verify that the assembly facility is running safely and consistently with minimal maintenance impact.
Ensure PM/CM/EM are done with integrity and quality and Facilities are maintained to the standards
Execute maintenance tasks and assignments in area of responsibility.
Support, drive and raise Kaizen’s (Continuous Improvement) projects to improve equipment uptime and availability.
Meet and implement MOS standards and processes and achieve output targets of JPH, TTT, MTTR, MTBF and PM/CM completion.
Support and develop short term actions through the paynter processes and reviews
Develop weekend work plans and ensure spares and consumables are available to complete scheduled tasks in responsible areas.
Basic administration of maintenance documents for corrective actions resolution
Ensure Integrity in work tasks undertaken and identify improvement opportunities
Minimum experience & qualifications required
Stamping Requirements:
National Diploma or degree: Mechanical/Mechatronics/Electrical Engineering
3-4 Years Automation Experience
Kuka / Kawasaki / Motoman / Yaskawa Robot Experience
Robotic MIG Welding Experience
Frames Requirements:
National Diploma or degree: Mechanical/Mechatronics/Electrical/ Automation Engineering
5 - 10 Years Automation and Maintenance Experience Preferably in the Chassis/Body Construction Assembly Field
Experienced with a number of systems, expert in at least one area and working knowledge of a number of other areas of specialization

Read mechanical and electronic schematics to ensure specifications, adherence to standards are met
Troubleshoot equipment; manage calibration and preventative maintenance processes.
Extensive knowledge of a variety of robots, electronic and digital controls systems, experience to test, and writes modifications in multiple robot languages including systems software (Siemens, Allen Bradley, and Rockwell).
Strong understanding of conveyors system programming and body tooling techniques, in addition to networking understanding, Ethernet, remote IO, ProfiBus and Wireless Networks
Fault Finding And Continuous Improvement Execution And Implementation
PERFORMANCE MEASURES/ SUCCESS CRITERIA
Improve Framing Line equipment uptime using data analysis and preventative maintenance planning
Develop and implement short, medium and long-term improvement plans for implementation within the automated systems.
Take responsibility for investigating and introducing new engineering technologies and strategies.
Undertake root cause analysis and ensure Permanent Corrective Actions (PCA’s) are implemented
