Risk Analyst: Modelling & Analytics

A well-known Consumer finance Business is looking for a Risk Analyst who is experienced in Modelling & Analytics to join their team based in Cape Town.The successful candidate will need to ensure through the use of cutting-edge statistical analysis that the intellectual property of the company's credit portfolio is continuously fostered and distributed.Key Responsibilities:Collaborate with a team of risk analysts to apply best practices in statistical analysis and credit risk management.Complete the analysis to identify how changing the approach will affect the application areas and account management tactics.Predictive model development and monitoring for the improvement of risk decision-makingCreate experimental frameworks to address important business questions.Using statistical methods, forecast and track market trendsAssist with applying strategy adjustments to active decision-making systems.Key Competencies:Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsKnowledge of statistical & Mathematical modelsInterpretation of analysisAbility to communicate insights with senior stakeholders.Compilation of reportsStrong attention to detailMonitoring output data qualityMust be able to manage deadlinesMinimum Requirements:A bachelors degree or higher in Mathematics, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Actuarial Science or Finance (CA(SA), CIMA, CFA)Minimum 5 years relevant experience in:Credit Risk AnalysisUnsecured Lending productsPreparing data-driven credit policy recommendations for senior managementExposure to Bureau data and Developing customer insights.Manipulating & Analyzing data using SAS, SQL, and SAS MacrosExposure to Python or R- AdvantageousYou are welcome to connect with: , Shannon Watson or  on LinkedIn or  them at  and use any of the following extensions; Merina , Shannon or Lindy on Please note that correspondence will only be conducted with shortlisted candidates for this position.
