Our Seed Production team is managing the production of our vegetable seeds, including both conventional and biological varieties. We are continually enhancing our methods to ensure the right amount and best quality vegetable seeds, efficiently produced and on-time delivered. As Regional Production Lead in South Africa, you will be responsible for the execution of seed productions of multiple crops whereby Onions are the main crop , ensuring optimal planning and advising 3rd party growers and farmers to ensure optimal conditions, quality and yields. In this position you will report to the Crop Production Manager based in the Netherlands.
Your Tasks And Responsibilities
People Management and Coaching: As a dedicated people manager, you will lead, motivate, develop and coach the production team to achieve their full potential and create a culture of continuous learning and growth.
Production Management: Take ownership of the regional seed production activities, ensuring it meets the global production standards for quality and timeliness. Supervise and monitor production, in close collaboration with the crop production teams, both in South Africa as in the Netherlands.
Contribute to the development of our long-term strategic vision for seed production in your region.
Relationship Management: Actively manage operational and tactical third party supplier performance.
Collaboration and knowledge sharing: Be an integral part of the international Crop Production team; collaborating on projects, sharing knowledge and contributing to high team performance. Actively participate in cross-functional teams across various areas such as research & development, logistics, quality assurance and regulatory affairs.
Your Power To be successful in this role, you will need a strong agricultural background, preferably in the seed industry, as well as experienced in leading and developing teams. You should also have excellent communication skills and be able to work effectively with internal stakeholders and external parties.
In addition, the geographical scope of this role is in South Africa, but you will have close partnership with the head office in the Netherlands and you will be working at a strategical/tactical level.
In short you are or have:
Bachelor's or master's degree in Agriculture or related field.
Proven leadership experience with a track record of team development and coaching.
Strong understanding of seed production processes and agricultural practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of compliance standards ad protocols in the agricultural industry.
Project Management experience is a plus.
Willingness to travel regionally and internationally as needed.
