Based in Pinetown - KZNQUALIFICATIONS: BSc / BEng / BTech Engineering or similar degreeEXPERIENCE:• Several years progressively responsible experience in amanagement/ leadership position• Minimum 10 years in an Engineering or Technicalenvironment & ITC experience• Proven track record in delivering complex project success• Previous track record in successfully generating new business.Experience with project management software tools.Experience with managing contracts using FIDICwould be a benefit OVERVIEW:The primary function is to ensure that new projects are effectively executed (quality, cost, timing,sustainability). To communicate to and coordinate all stakeholders while promoting and aligning internalefforts to being efficient and clear.KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:o Lead project meetings to collect and disseminate information pertaining to projectso Technical specification review, resolution and sign offo Coordinate the collection and dissemination of technical information between/within thecompany, supplier and client.o Schedule and monitor program activity to achieve an "on-time" result including follow-up withexternal suppliers to ensure timely response to action itemso Monitor program cost activity to achieve an "in budget" resulto Collect quotations utilising supplier information, cost standards, technical information &engineering designo Ensure that project charges are correctly represented for accounting's closing processo Evaluates project performance of functional areas.o Selects and recommends procedures or development of methodso Responsible for the development and preparation of technical specificationso Coordinate designs, drawings, plans and specifications for projects, engineered systems,technical equipment or componentso Prepares design computations and quantity estimateso Assists in the preparation or modification of reports, specifications, plans, constructionschedules, environmental impact studies, permits and designs for projectso Reviews and monitors project progress to assure quality and adherence to requirements ofcontract documentso Responsible for control of work-in-progress, ensures accurate supplier billings, monitorsoutstanding accounts payableo Receives instructions on assignments objectives, complex features and possible solutionso Receives / solicits guidance on unusual and / or complex problems and supervisory approvalon work plans and safety complianceo Ensures safety compliance during project executiono Engineering Project Budget creation and sign offo Client liaison during project phases C1-C5o Coordinator of Technical Site Visitso Owner of the Functional Design Specification creation & sign offo Project procuremento Project expenditure trackingo Project Gantt Chartso Assist finance with cash flow forecastso Facilitation & approval of Technical Design Specificationso Manage project execution on/ off siteo Coordinate system commissioningo Ensure legal compliance of new installationso Custodian of project documentationo Handover completed project to OperationsPLEASE NOTE: this is not a full JD, our client is open to the possibility of a person living in another province to work remotely.
