Job Description

The Ingestive Behavior, Weight Management, and Health Promotion Laboratory is seeking a highly organized and motivated individual to facilitate the management of a multi-disciplinary team that conducts clinical research on health promotion and food intake. The team consists of postdoctoral fellows, research specialists, and Research Dietitians who make up approximately nine full time equivalents. The team conducts and participates in numerous clinical studies, most of which focus on weight loss, physical activity, dietary interventions, and food intake. Further, the team develops and tests novel lifestyle change interventions, as well methods to assess food intake and other health behaviors (e.g., vaping) with smartphone apps. The team operates in a fast-paced environment, with collaborations across the United States and in Europe. The team is seeking a candidate to facilitate study coordination, data collection, data management, possibly data analysis, and administrative responsibilities associated with the laboratory and conducting human subjects research. Administrative responsibilities include Institutional Review Board submissions, grant submissions, grants management, contracting, creation and submission of reports to study sponsors, and personnel management (e.g., maintaining laboratory coverage and managing the team schedule). The candidate is also expected to contribute to data collection and data management across the team’s research portfolio. Interested candidates with management, statistical, nutrition, or clinical trial expertise or experience are encouraged to apply.

Education, Experience, and Skills Required

Bachelor’s degree or a higher degree in public health, business administration, statistics, psychology, nutrition, or a similar field is preferred. Experience in clinical research preferred, particularly study coordination, study management, grants management, grant submissions, data management, and data analysis. Excellent organizational and oral and written communication skills are necessary.

Physical Abilities

Computer work is necessary, as is working in a laboratory conducting human subjects research.

Working Conditions

Working during business hours is necessary, though some work will occur before or after business hours. Weekend work is expected to be rare. Travel is possible.
