Type of role: Fixed Term Contract of 12 months (you will be an employee for 1 year, not a contractor) ABOUT YOU • At least 4 years full-time project management experience. • Grade 12 • Standard literacy – English: read, write and speak. • IT Degree or Diploma. • A thorough understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle. • Experience in Scrum/Agile methodologies. • Experience in managing delivery of customer-facing and internally-facing products or services. • PMI or PMP certification or similar from an accredited organization. • Intermediate to advanced proficiency with industry-standard word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software programs. • Working knowledge of the Software Development life cycle using waterfall or agile methodologies. • Solid working experience with project planning and tracking tools such as MS Project and JIRA. • Experience of working up to leadership level in comparable organizations. • Experience in the Technology / Telco industry of managing large or complex departments or programs of work. • Strategic mindedness with a view on future strategy, balanced with tactical delivery. • Technical background. • Experience of both waterfall and agile delivery approaches. • Highly customer outcome-focused with a solution-orientated mind-set. • Good presentation and communication skills. • Hard working, dedicated, tenacious, self-motivated and quality minded. • Meticulous, structured with excellent attention to detail. • Adaptable, can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines whilst retaining control. • Persuasive, encouraging, and motivating – a strong negotiator. • Ability to lead by example and motivate delivery team members. • Conflict management and resolution • Budget management. • Experience of delivering complex projects. • Proven record of successful delivery of fixed-priced end-to-end projects and implementations on time, in specification and on budget and ensure that they are of the highest quality. • Proven record of managing serious disputes and achieving positive outcomes. • Proven record of achieving high levels of customer satisfaction. • The ability to produce clear and concise project documentation Responsibilities will include (but not be limited to) the following: • To be responsible for delivery of all customer projects on time and in budget. • Responsible for overseeing all elements of delivery, including managing scope, budget and plan strictly against contract. • To look outwards towards the market for key trends in delivery methodology, technology and process best practices and consider how these could benefit the PS team and the business. • Manage relationships with their customers, ensuring solutions are of high quality and delivered on time, on budget. • Be a team player to help build an exciting and energized PS team which is able to attract and retain the best talent. • Manage deliveries to agreed criteria and own and report on KPIs to the broader business. • To ensure documentation is produced in line with stakeholder expectations. • Collaboration with stakeholders to document project scope, deliverables, goals, risks, blockers, success measures, and estimated resources needed. • Provide high-quality resource and commercial estimates in line with the timescales of the project. • Where applicable management of customer and partner engagement on key programs. • To work, on occasion, at customer and commercial partners' sites to expedite agreed project tasks. • Overall commercial responsibility for projects. • To assist in Pre-Sales support, to create project proposals, RFPs, estimates, and schedules. • Ensure that projects are managed in accordance with the Project Delivery Methodology and Project Governance standards. • Identify and win potential incremental business with the client. Drive customer satisfaction quality levels and ensure best practice is achieved. • Manage disputes with the client and internal teams/people and achieve win-win outcomes. • Manage a successful transition from delivery into support. • Plan, schedule, monitor, and report on activities related to the project, including subcontractor monitoring. • Recommend business improvement initiatives within the services division to ensure customer retention. • Any other duties as required. Key Performance Areas: • Meet or exceed department and personal objectives as agreed/communicated by management. • Adopt the implemented strategy for PS delivery team. • Collaboration across the organization. • Continuous improvement of delivery metrics. • Deliver work on time as per project plans. • Deliver projects in budget. • Create, manage, and distribute project communications artifacts like charters, schedules, and budgets. Additional Requirements: • Experience of delivering complex projects. • Proven record of successful delivery of fixed priced end-to-end projects and implementations on time, in specification and on budget and ensure that they are of the highest quality. • Proven record of managing serious disputes and achieving positive outcomes. • Proven record of achieving high levels of customer satisfaction. • The ability to produce clear and concise project documentation.
