The role act as Project Support for multiple projects in the Projects Department of Andrada Mining. The department is responsible for execution of engineering related projects, including detail engineering designs, procurement, fabrication, construction and commissioning of the projects when a sound business case is proven in the study outcomes.
The role reports directly to the Project Controls Manager or Project Lead on all these projects, and in the execution of duties have to report to other members of the Andrada management on tasks or actions delegated to the role by those managers.

Responsible for overseeing those contractors and employees involved in Projects-related work adhering to all relevant Health, Safety and Environmental requirements.
Business For the execution of these projects, multidisciplinary teams are utilised consisting of internal Andrada staff from different departments in the organisation, and external professional consultants to top up shortfalls in internal skills or capacity, as well as contractors who are responsible for the execution activities of these projects.
All the work needs to be managed in an orderly way so that project execution work progresses fluently without loss of information by any individual party, and the Project controls engineer supports the project leads, engineers, and steering committee members on this.
The Project controls engineer advises management on the progress of these projects and concerns coming up where policy-related considerations can improve efficiency.
The role is responsible for the coordination of team activities in all the project areas through the establishment of management systems, that support other roles in integration, scope, schedule, costs, quality, resources, communication, risk, procurement, and stakeholder management.
The role monitors all costs related to all projects and advises leads of expenditure on work packages under their responsibility. Weekly reports are generated, and additional action items are noted to address any area of the project scope variance.
Progress and cost monitoring, change management, and deviation control.
Functional The role has the responsibility of the projects set-up following functions inherent in each project.
The role is to structure the project according to functional work packages and budget for resources, expenses, and time for WPs. For planning, it is necessary to define resources for projects and budget for the resources. Shortfalls where insufficient internal resources are available, need to be added with recruitment and contracting of externals. The level of expertise is determined to enable management to recruit suitable experts to participate.
The Project controls engineer forms part of the team that is responsible for the preparation of budgets, tracking of costs in real-time and facilitating pro-active cost control and reports on expenditures against cost buckets.
The design and implementation of process flows related to Project Controls (Including Project Administration, Cost, and Schedule) is integral to the role.
Development of systems and processes to enable fast decision-making and task tracking.
Writing of Projects Standard Operating Procedures to improve projects execution functions.
Scheduling of feedback and progress meetings and maintaining records of meetings. The following outcomes are managed: Decision register / Action register / Risk Register / Progress reports, etc.
To execute the role, it is important for members to liaise with various internal and external parties. The role of the Project controls engineer must identify matters of mutual concern and strengthen the relationships through sound communications and sharing of relevant information timeously.

Formal Education Sound basic education that equips the individual for the role, with preferable a tertiary education either engineering, technical or business management.
A qualification relating to projects management is recommended but is not considered essential.

Required Experience Proven experience on participation on technical projects and projects support functions.
Minimum of 3-4 years' experience in same or related role.
Formal training and proven experience on information Technology, Information Management, and Information Systems.
