Position: Professional Quantity Surveyor

My client is seeking a skilled Professional Quantity Surveyor with experience in the furniture manufacturing and shopfitting industry to join their team. As a Quantity Surveyor in this specialized field, you will be responsible for cost estimation, budgeting, and procurement for furniture manufacturing and shopfitting projects. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring efficient project delivery, cost control, and quality management.
Duties and Responsibilities: Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates and budgets for furniture manufacturing and shopfitting projects.
Conduct cost analysis, quantity take-offs, and material pricing for project tenders.
Procure materials and services in line with project specifications and budget constraints.
Monitor project costs, track expenditures, and ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
Collaborate with project managers, architects, and contractors to ensure cost-effective project delivery.
Evaluate and negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors to optimize project costs.
Provide regular cost reports, financial forecasts, and cost variations to project stakeholders.
Oversee and manage the financial aspects of furniture manufacturing and shopfitting projects to ensure profitability and success.
Qualifications and Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or related field.
Professional registration with the South African Council for the Quantity Surveying Profession (SACQSP).
Minimum of 8 years of experience in quantity surveying, specifically in the furniture manufacturing and shopfitting industry.
Proficiency in quantity surveying software and MS Excel for cost estimation and budgeting purposes.
Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Knowledge of furniture manufacturing processes, shopfitting standards, and industry best practices.
