Vacancy DetailsEmployer:Minopex IntroductionThis position will be based in the Saldanha Bay Municipality area in the Western Cape.DescriptionThe purpose of this position is to diagnose and maintain machinery and equipment according to technical specification and sound engineering practice.Duties and ResponsibilitiesInvestigate, diagnose and perform trade related maintenance and repair of equipment and machinery according to the maintenance requirements, standards and specificationsPerform daily inspections in accordance with the Mine Health and Safety Act regulations, operational and company standards to report all defects and breakdowns on equipment and machinery to the SupervisorDevelop, modify, construct and install all types of trade related equipment required for the safe operation of all engineering equipmentEnsure that all installations and equipment are safe and in good working order after task completionContinuously monitor equipment failure and efficiency to improve trade specific equipment and systemsConsult with production teams on maintenance activities that effects productionSupports the achievement of engineering availability and production performance levelsEnsure that maintenance related information is recorded and reported to the relevant planning office to support the maintenance of the planned/asset maintenance systemAttend to shift handover by attending to previous shift information and schedule shift resources accordinglyPerforms visual inspections of work area to identify problems and report to shift supervisorMonitor production according to shift targetsSupervise and maintain a high standard of housekeepingProvide maintenance support to engineering departmentQualification RequirementsValid Section 13 / Section 26 (D) Trade Test Certificate requiredValid driver's license code B, EB or C1Own transport to attend to call outs Experience and Skills RequirementsA minimum of 4-5 years' experience as a qualified Fitter in a mineral processing plant or similar environment is requiredEnglish language proficiencyTime management skills
