A leading company in the Butchery/ MeatIndustry based outside Pretoria is looking for an experienced ProductDeveloper to innovate and execute multiple new product developmentprojects and trials from initial concept to launch and align existingproducts to relevant legislation and customer specifications.Duties & ResponsibilitiesNew Product Development· Identify and develop new product initiatives in accordance tothe Company Group Strategy in the factory and butchery counters.· Design and conduct new product trials, from concept tolaunch.· Develop product specifications – raw material, finalproduct and internal.· Conduct the necessary trials anddevelop additional product documentation as required, i.e. cookingtime verification reports, 4P documentation, Pack Copy (label)information incl. ingredient declarations, Internal NPD Requests etc.· Stay abreast of, and ensure compliance to, the most recentlegislation and customer specification requirements wrt productlabelling across the company product offering.· New productsKPI reporting 6 weeks after product launch & continual sensorymonitoring of products to ensure quality and profile is maintained.· Training of production and quality teams to ensure product ismanufactured according to specification.· Preparation/make-upand timely dispatch of samples to customersProject trials· Execute relevant product trials aimed at improving existingproducts/protocols/ranges or new product initiates.· Designproject plans, communicate with relevant operational teams, capturedata and compile reports.Maintenance of internal productinformation system· Develop and change internal productspecifications (NPD Requests) as required· Submission of NPDRequests to the IT and Master Data departments and the verification ofthese updates to the operational system (i.e. BOM changes or tareweights)Supplier and Raw material Liaison· Liaise andbuild strong relationship with suppliers, building on:oContinual innovation, i.e. new flavors and product/process ideaso Compliance to raw material requirements(quality/procurement/availability/cost)o Ensuring raw materialis available for all trials and initial launchDesiredExperience & Qualification·Diploma: Food Technology (Required)· Degree: Consumer Science/ Equivalent (Preferable)· 2 – 4 years' relevant technicalexperience (Fresh Meat / Fish)#J-18808-Ljbffr
