Job DescriptionJob responsibilities include (but are not limited to): Led by and in liaison with the Group Safety & Sustainable Development (S&SD) Health Function & AAP Executives – prepare operational (SHE) – health strategy for PlatinumFunctional Strategy alignment and executionGeneral management of WBHSLine management responsibilities Contribute to policy discussions and impact assessment Operational Management (Financial and administrative Management)Resource planning and budgetingClinical programme – implementation, monitoring and evaluationImplementation of (SHE) – health management systemsMonitor effectiveness of current health information management systemsDrive adherence to clinical governance (training, quality of care & peer reviews)Respond to cross-function requirementsOversee the quality of services provided by 3rd partiesBe a strategic advisor on health and wellnessUtilise analytical ability to develop reports for presentation and discussion with the Executive Committee and Board of Directors.This role is at a Band 5 level reporting to the Head of SHE and Permitting Safety QualificationsMBChBRegistration with Health Professionals Council of South Africa.Post-graduate training in occupational health CarePost-graduate training in trauma and emergency care (desirable)Post-graduate training in family or internal medicine – esp. communicable diseases (desirable)Business Administration or Public Health (desirable)Experience: At least 10 years work experienceOver 5 years general managerial experienceClinical programme management experienceExperience in the mining industry (desirable)Knowledge and Skills: Demonstrated success working as a senior medical professional in the Mining industry.Demonstrated success working in clinical programme and medical management (combined)Demonstrated experience with occupational and non-occupational disease management including tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS.In depth knowledge of the effects of hazards in and around the workplace which are detrimental to the health of workers, the community and the environmentExcellent knowledge of occupational disease management programmesTrack record of leading ideas generation; translating these into practical initiatives to be implemented and demonstration of successful execution and delivery within occupational health.Provides a consistent outstanding role model in relation to safety practices with a deep understanding of the importance of safety.Additional InformationWho We Are
