Job Description

Required to oversee compliance to health and safety aspects in the company and on site as per the Mine Health and Safety Act
Responsible for commissioning communications software and hardware on machines. Required to commission the of machine
The identification and implementation of accommodation and training needs for the productivity analysis
Maintain adequate resources to cover for events such as leave, sickness and incapacitation of section personnel, thereby ensuring continuance of section services to the company in S.A.
Responsible to drive service agreements and benefits with the customers
Help set-up, manage and maintain the Smart Services center for remote faultfinding, service agreement reporting and FS feedback
Responsible for creating and maintaining good and effective working relationships between department personnel and other company departments.
Technical “ownership” of communications systems, drawings, bills of material and specifications.
Required to be involved in issues on the working product including marketing, manufacturing and using the product
Required to develop a solid understanding of cost, value and schedules.
Minimum Requirements

At least 3-5 years underground experience
Electrician / Millwright with Flameproof and Gas Testing certificates
National Diploma in Engineering discipline will be an added advantage
Supervisor experience is essential
Must be computer literate (MS Office)
Experience in a mining engineering and application environment is very important together with product and application knowledge
Fault finding experience
Engineering calculation experience
Knowledge of the communication links to surface including hardware and software (Transender configuration) is required
Knowledge of SAP and the EWR process.
A working knowledge of South African mining laws and standards, and product approval processes
Engineering discipline, first time right designs,
Experience in fixing problems to their root cause and working within the systems.
