Details of the offer

FINANACIAL OPERATIONS MANAGER/6 months Contract.
focus on Treasury/banking/ GL and AP.

This is the position profile in a normalised situation and it recognises only the core responsibilities.
JOB PURPOSE:
a. To function as the first line manager of the accounts department to ensure the smooth running of the departmental operations
b. To check and monitor the quality of inputs and outputs (review of the accuracy of financial reconciliations as well as the approval of accounts payable of the company), as well to manage staff and workflow.
MEASURABLE OUTPUTS
1. Effective preparation of monthly financial results
2. Effective examination and sign off of accounts payable
3. Effective review of all reconciliations
4. Effective management of indirect tax payment
5. Effective implementation and monitoring of adherence to internal processes, policies and procedures
6. Effective cash management

8. Effective self-management
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION
Knowledge, understanding and working experience in an accounts department environment
Sound understanding of financial processes
Understanding of accounting systems and software (beneficial)
Basic financial and business acumen
Strong numeracy skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Basic computer literacy
Ability to work in a team
Leadership potential
Clear criminal and credit record

Understanding of the insurance philosophy and framework

Basic insight into group and departmental strategies and business plans
Clear understanding of company Financial Services compliance framework
Sound knowledge of insurance organizational structure
In-depth knowledge and understanding of relevant company policies, processes and procedures
Sound internal network
Knowledge of relevant IT systems
Induction/introduction to insurance
Business structures (networking)

Ad hoc Manager-specific instructions

Minimum qualification
BCOM Degree with a minimum of 3-5 years working experience in an accounting role (insurance accounting and/or financial services industry beneficial)
