Ngap Lecturer: Machines & Design

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Key Performance Areas include but not limited to:

? Teach and assess Engineering students at Diploma level for the subjects/modules in

the area of Machines and Design

? Improve on the current content of the teaching material for the subjects/modules in

the area of Machines and Design inline with the industry trends.

? Influence the development, maintenance and control in field of specialisation

? Liaise with Industry including consultation work/collaborative research

? Conduct student and academic administration and reporting duties in line

with responsibility (including studentsbehaviour, attitude and attendance)

? Manage the entire assessment chain for the subject, Machines and Design. This

includes: Identifying the appropriatemoderator for the subjects/modules in line

with the University policy, and standards within the University Policies, Guidelines

and Timelines.

APPLICATION CRITERIA:

Qualification and Experience:

? M+5 in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum pass mark of 70%

? Applicants must be South African citizens who are less than 40 years of age

? Minimum of one year industrial or teaching experience in the relevant field of

specialisation

? ECSA Registration or Eligibility to Register as a Technologist or Professional Engineer

Skills and Competencies:

? Engineering competence

? Communication skills (Verbal and written)

? Quality control/ Maintenance procedures

? Management skills

? Professional judgement demonstrated in work place application
