This role is responsible for the delivery of the financial accounting/ control function in the organisation through other managers and their teams. Carries overall responsibility for the preparation and quality of financial accounts and maintenance of financial records over periods of 3 months to 1 year.Carries overall responsibility for the preparation and quality of external and internal reporting for the Life business unit in compliance with IFRS as well as Group policies and methodologies.Responsible for the financial management of the Foundation Market business unit.Contributes to and implements financial strategy.Assists in deciding on the financial and business viability of new and existing projects and programmes.Analyses financial records such as income and expense trends and recommends solutions where appropriate.Plans and prepares budgets and quarterly forecasts.Monitors actuals vs budgets vs prior year vs forecast and provides business insights regarding the drivers of performance. Analyses and monitors the effect of budget, policy and/or business changes on business unit productivity.Responsible for Internal and external audit liaison as well as tax, legislative & statutory requirements.Effective implementation of internal controls.Monitors and manages tax risk for the business unit.Maintains effective stakeholder relationships.Effective people management.Requirements Qualified Chartered Accountant.4-6 years post articles working experience.Very strong technical knowledge and practical application of IFRS standards and tax legislation.IFRS 17 and Life Insurance experience will be advantageous.HFM & Oracle knowledge and experience.Skills
