MATERIAL PLANNER (Automotive)- RosslynLarge international component manufacturing operation is looking for a competent Material Planner. Must have 5 years motor industry experience - essentialQualifications & ExperienceGrade 12 + Completed 3 year Diploma in Logistics / Purchasing Management ESSENTIALMinimum 5 years material planning experience in the automotive industry essentialStrong analytical skills and computer literacyStrong Forward planning skillsGood communication skillsDutiesRegular contact with suppliers regarding delivery of new orders, possible supply problems, follow-up of orders, etceteraNegotiate transport costs and recovery costsNegotiate increase / decrease in material release requirementsInteract with suppliers regarding run-in / run-out and breakpoint changesEnsuring the correct stock levels of components at all times within set parameters.Taking full responsibility for the continuous re-planning, follow-up, expediting and controlling of components on order and in transit until receipt in-plant.Ensuring the Continuous Supply of JIT/JIS components for 3-shift production in the right quantity, at the right time, to the right place without incurring any excess costsTaking full responsibility for expediting and follow-up activities of components.Co-ordination of engineering changes for run-out and run-in componentsControl and minimisation of (potential) obsolescenceLiaison with local and overseas suppliers and service providersMaintain and control warehouse inventory levels in order to minimize capital costsAnalyze and evaluate supplier performance and minimize over and under supplyAnalyze pending or potential engineering changesEnsure correct inventories are used for MRP by requesting stock counts for stockEvaluate critical parts and MRP forecast to identify shortages and endure timely resolution to possible supply problemsArrange, control and manage expediting function to ensure on time deliveries and continuous production at all times as set within stock targets.VALID DRIVERS LICENCE WITH OWN TRANSPORTONLY APPLICANTS THAT MEET THE ABOVE REQUIREMENTS WILL BE CONSIDEREDSALARY OFFERED TO SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT WILL DEPEND ON QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCEApplicants who have not been contacted within 14 days should consider their applications as having been unsuccessful
