Maintenance Worker (Temp/Seasonal Role)

Job Description United Exports is looking for a dedicated, experienced Maintenance Worker to join our team in Paarl. This role is based at our Western Cape Packhouse. The main objective of this role is to develop maintenance procedures and ensure effective implementation thereof. Checking all electrical and hydraulic systems and ensure functionality, monitor equipment inventory and place orders when necessary. In order to excel in this role, you will need to perform preventative maintenance as well as overseeing contractors when repairs are being carried out. This is a seasonal role. Key Performance Outputs Carry out inspections of the facilities to identify and resolve issues Monitor expenses and control the budget for maintenance Manage relationships with contractors and service providers Ensure health and safety policies are complied with implementation Plan, execute and oversee all repair and installation activities Allocate workload and supervise upkeep staff (custodians, janitors etc.) Monitor equipment inventory and place orders when necessary Monitor expenses and control the budget for maintenance Manage relationships with contractors and service providers Keep maintenance logs and report on daily activities Ensure health and safety policies are complied and actioned as per legislation Skilled in the use of hand and power tools Ability to take apart machines, equipment, or devices to remove and replace defective parts Ability to check blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary Ability to use common tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches Experience with precision measuring instruments or electronic testing devices Knowledge of Compressors and cold-rooms maintenance will be an added advantage Basic general machine/equipment maintenance and maintaining machinery Requirements Educational / Technical  Senior certificate/grade 12 Diploma or Certification in Construction / Maintenance. Must speak English and Xhosa will be advantageous Requirements · ·
