What is the job: We are seeking a self-driven, agile, and critical thinker to join our Internal Compliance Department as a Loss Controller . In this newly created role, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in safeguarding the company's assets, interests and minimizing risk exposure. What will be expected of you? Proactively Mitigate Risk: Analyse company trends to identify potential security vulnerabilities, implement effective strategies to minimize risk. Investigate and Resolve Incidents : When losses occur (e.g., theft, fraud, property damage), investigate the root cause, collaborate with relevant departments to prevent future incidents, and report your findings. Recover Losses : Pursue the recovery of losses stemming from criminal activity, safeguarding the company's assets and brand reputation. Conduct Comprehensive Audits: Assist the Internal Compliance Lead with forensic and risk-based audits, plan and conduct investigations into policy breaches, suspected fraud, and other financial crimes. Collaborate with Experts: Liaison with service providers such as security specialists, law enforcement, and forensic investigators to gather evidence and conduct a thorough evaluation. Maintain Security Measures: Regularly review surveillance footage, assess security processes and standards, and work with the internal audit team to identify areas for improvement. Develop Audit Programs: Compile working procedures and programs to manage fraud risk management audits, analyse findings, and prepare reports for management. Monitor Suspicious Activity: Actively monitor and assess fraud and risk tip-offs, identify potential red flags in expense accounts, and conduct quality checks across all business operations. Manage Ad-hoc Requests & Improve Efficiency: Efficiently address and finalize ad-hoc requests, support the detection and prevention of fraudulent activity, and identify optimal recovery strategies for financial losses. Are you qualified? 3 (three) year National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Auditing/ Forensic Auditing/Risk Management (Required) 3 (three) years practical experience combined in Forensic Investigation and Internal Audit or 3 years is Risk Management/Loss Control. Exposure to computer-assisted audit software will further enhance the application. Did you do this before? Forensic Investigations Audit report writing. Security and surveillance management Do you have what it takes? Presenting & Communicating Information Planning, organizing, and researching skills. Critical thinking, Problem-solving, Interpersonal skills Microsoft office proficiency. Ability to work independently. Ability to commute/reliable transport. There is a seat for you at our table.
