Responsibilities:
Contributing to the initial stages of tenders by aiding in proposal development, including defining project strategies, selecting concepts, and outlining scope of work
Taking charge of generating designs, from conceptual to detailed, for a variety of equipment
Overseeing and coordinating work to ensure engineering deliverables meet project requirements and company standards
Sharing technical knowledge and expertise with project team members
Providing support and assistance to colleagues as needed
Providing input for progress reports, cost estimates, and project schedules
Conducting strength and fatigue analyses and preparing accompanying reports and specifications
Translating product standards and requirements into technical specifications
Evaluating input from employees, suppliers, and partners
Offering technical assistance to the Procurement department
Cultivating a positive working environment and fostering teamwork within the team
Skills & Experience:
Minimum of 8 to 10+ years' experience in marine, mining, and subsea equipment project design and management
Understanding of engineering processes within project-oriented settings
Familiarity with dredging and/or offshore markets is advantageous
Knowledgeable of contemporary engineering processes and methodologies
Capability to stay updated on relevant regulations and market trends
Proficient in engineering design, analysis, and project management
Strong problem-solving abilities and innovative aptitude, especially in high-pressure scenarios
Exceptional communication and collaboration skills for effective teamwork across diverse disciplines
Demonstrated leadership prowess, evidenced by a successful history of leading engineering projects
Qualification:
BEng/BSc/BTech in Mechanical engineering
Professional Registration with ECSA
