Junior Lab Analyst

About the PositionCurrently, the Laboratory Department at Industrial Demo Plant (IDP) in East London, South Africa has a vacancy for a suitably qualified and motivated junior laboratory analyst to join our growing team. As a valuable member of our team, you shall be responsible for performing laboratory duties and analysis in a reliable, safe, and efficient manner in one of our innovative laboratories.  The position will report directly to the Laboratory Manager, or such other suitably designated person. Responsibilities·Executing laboratory tests of raw materials, in-process samples, by-products and final products ·Providing accurate and reliable analytical results, in the specified turnaround time ·Entering results into the Lab Database, and preparing reports ·Conducting laboratory work to ensure timely completion of service requests ·Participating in the work of R&D team, which is working on the development of our innovative green technology ·Ensuring that a monthly inventory of lab chemicals and consumables is performed and provided timeously to the Laboratory Manager or his designated deputy ·Maintaining laboratory equipment and keeping in good condition ·Calibrating all equipment as per the calibration schedule ·Conducting laboratory tests in a safe and efficient manner.
RequirementsNational Diploma or Bachelors' degree in Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry A minimum of 1 year experience in a manufacturing environment (experience in petrochemical environment highly advantageous· Attention to detail Willingness to learn and expand skillset Good communication skill Availability for shift work.
