M&G Investments is looking for a Junior IT Business Analyst to join our ITS team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to work collaboratively across a global business to drive real progress in our Project Management processes. The size and scope of the projects will range from small to large. As a Business Analyst you will report directly to the Head of IT Services.
Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness analysis Determine when and how to modify a selected approach as necessary in order to apply an appropriate level of rigor and best meet the needs of the area of analysisAdapt approach as required to adjust to changing conditions and meet new challenges
Elicitation of requirements Use a variety of techniques to accurately elicit requirements when stakeholders are focused on solutions, or are biased, or do not know or understand the scope of the analysis areaEnsure that elicitation results link to the business goal/owner and can be measured or decomposed to measurable requirements
Requirements analysis Clearly express and document stakeholder desires and/or current organizational state using a combination of textual formats, models, diagrams, and matricesUnderstands appropriate use of various analysis techniques and approachesDefine the requirements in terms of business, processes and functional requirementsCreates detailed Business Requirement Document or User story and translate it into functional specifications.Provides analytic support by coordinating data extraction from various databases and data interpretation.When multiple solutions are available, effectively evaluate which option will deliver the greatest business valueProactively seek to identify how users have adapted and/or modified the solution and whyDefine the high level design of the solution using textual formats, models, diagrams, and matrices
Testing analysis Participates in Integration Testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and Functionality Testing.Clearly define test cases with the business usersMap test cases to requirementsProvide input to the test requirements in terms of data, environments, tools and test approachesReview, access and resolve test defectsAttributes Qualifications, Skills & ExperienceAny tertiary qualificationIIBA or Business Analysis diploma (required)Agile training or certification2-3 years' experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in the financial services industryProven experience in multiple project disciplines, e.g. Agile, Waterfall, HybridExperience in agile thinking and deliveryExperience in change managementExperience of working and analysing in an Investment Management environment is an advantageExperience in project managing and business analysis of small projectsExperience of working and analysing digital transformation projectsStrong technical and analytical skills including process and data analysisAbility to work in a collaborative environment using an agile approachAbility to adapt to changeAbility to be agile, flexible and responsive in thinking and deliverySelf-motivation and energeticStrong interpersonal skillsStrong problem solving and critical thinking skillsStrong documentation and specification skillsStrong verbal and written communication skillsUnderstanding of Investment Management landscapeStrong knowledge of applicable methodologies, tools, standards, and proceduresDemonstrated decision-making abilitiesAbility to perform under pressureAbility to work independently and self-managingAbility to project manage deliveryApplication form I would like to apply for this position
