The role of the internal auditor is to independently and objectively evaluate the organization's operations and gather relevant supporting evidence. The internal auditor essentially serves as the eyes and ears of the company's senior leadership and board of directors. The internal auditor will help the organization accomplish its objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes.
Their assigned work may cover any area of an organization.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Objectively assess the company's business and IT processesAssess the company's risks and the efficacy of its risk management effortsEnsure that the organization is complying with relevant laws, statutes and regulationsEvaluate internal control and make recommendations to maintain a highly effective environmentIdentify and test controls in placeIdentify risks, shortfalls or gaps in processes and provide recommendations for remediationPromote a culture of ethical behaviour and help identify improper conductAssure safeguards are in place over company assetsInvestigate instances of potential unethical activitiesCommunicate the findings and recommendationsPerforming follow up engagements to ensure recommendations / remediation have been implemented and the risks have been mitigatedQUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED MatricMinimum Higher Diploma in Internal Auditing.
