We have an exciting new opportunity for a Head of Business Development for a multinational Retail company in JohannesburgCompany Background:Join a leading retail powerhouse established in 2005, boasting over 3,000 stores across 11 countries globally. Our stores, ranging from 400 to 3000 sqm, offer over 20,000 innovative products across 10 departments, ensuring a complete and enjoyable family shopping experience. With a workforce exceeding 23,000 employees, we serve over 500 million consumers annually, driven by our vision to become the largest retailer of home improvement products worldwide.As part of our ambitious expansion plan, we aim to open 100 new stores within the next 3-4 years, strategically located in malls and high streets/standalone outlets.Key Responsibilities:Conduct market analysis and feasibility studies to identify optimal locations for new store openings in SA.Negotiate rental terms and secure commercially viable contracts, preparing legal documentation as required.Forge partnerships with malls and landowners to secure prime locations for on-site advertisement and promotion.Facilitate the acquisition of necessary documentation and permits from landowners to obtain store licenses.Oversee fit-out processes for new outlets, managing contractors and ensuring timely readiness for opening and achievement of sales targets.Serve as the primary liaison with external stakeholders throughout site development projects.Key Requirements:Relevant years of experience in a similar role, preferably within an MNC or leading local retailer.Proven track record of identifying prime sites and establishing fruitful relationships with landlords, agents, and leasing managers/directors.Familiarity with navigating governmental regulations and competing within the retail landscape.Proficient in analysing key metrics such as rent-to-sales ratio and rental rates per square foot vis-à-vis competitors.Embark on a rewarding journey to revolutionise the retail landscape.
