trading department as and when required and stay abreast of their delivery and customer relations requirements.Maintain management information to take corrective action on a continuous and pro-active basis.Take corrective actions when required to improve delivery and customer service.Maintain and update statistics on the system.Execute and implement distribution-planning activities including route profiling in accordance with customer priorities.Maintain accurate vehicle information.Manage effective vehicle supply availability.Document the effectiveness of projects, plans and/or operations upon their completion and provide feedback.Provide feedback and report to the Direct Manager on request regarding the day-to-day running of the Distribution department.MANAGE PROCUREMENT, MAINTENANCE AND CONTROL OF VEHICLES Attend to the maintenance and servicing schedules of vehicles without compromising standards and the service delivery to customers.Manage vehicles and equipment relating to the Transport division and the branch.Manage and implement safety, security, housekeeping, and sanitation programs daily.Investigate repetitive damages and address with direct reports and ensure the implementation of preventative measures.Engage with direct reports when repetitive damaged occurs.Obtain and get authorisation on the necessary maintenance quotes when required.Manage the maintenance budget ongoing.Provide input to the procurement of vehicles and equipment for the distribution departmentProvide feedback to the Direct Manager on request regarding the procurement, maintenance, control of vehicles (includes damages).MANAGE THE HEALTH & SAFETY OF THE TRANSPORT DIVISION Manage the safety of all personnel, equipment, and property ongoing.Implement effective loss control and security measures to ensure that stock and other losses do not occur.Assist in coordinating the security functions at the Branch.Report all work-related injuries of Employees immediately according to the IOD process.Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations ongoing.Conduct investigations to determine causes of transportation accidents and to improve safety procedures.Implement and maintain of all regulatory and legislative requirements are met.Implement and maintain all food safety standards and customer requirements are met.Ensure all relevant information documentation are up to date for Foot Safety program.Participate in and provide information for the health & safety audits when required.Provide feedback to the Direct Manager on request to guide the Health & Safety, and Security activities.MANAGE THE AARTO DEMERIT SYSTEM Ensure Demerit Points are moved to the driver on the AARTO system as the fines comes in.INVEST IN PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT Ensure achievement of own performance objectives.Attend scheduled training as agreed.Ensure completion of any assessments to evaluate understanding.Fill in attendance registers when required.DRIVE PERFORMANCE EXCELLENCE Do proper long, short- and medium-term manpower planning and provide Direct Manager with the necessary information.Optimise direct reports' productivity by managing and measuring their performance.Provide ongoing feedback, instruction & development guidance to help others excel in their current or future responsibilities.Sign off and report on overtime hours worked by direct reports in the required format by the monthly cut off dates for salary calculation purposes.Ensure that direct reports are effectively recognised and rewarded in line with organisational practice and governance.Share and transfer product, process, and systems knowledge to colleagues.Ensure achievement of own performance objectives.Ensure that all direct reports have signed position profiles, performance agreements/contracts and reviews by participating in profiling sessions and conducting performance agreements/contract and reviews for Direct Reports.Put together action plans to address poor performance.Ensure all direct reports are adequately trained.Actively manage talent and succession within the Distribution department.Responsible for the overall management of the Employee Lifecyle of the direct reports:Interview candidates/internal applicationsArrange for the onboarding of direct reports.Discipline direct reports where necessary (Human Capital will facilitate the process and provide the necessary documentation and arrange for Disciplinary Hearings when required).Area: Cape Town
