CBRE Excellerate is a leading global provider of integrated facilities and corporate real estate management. We are recruiting a Managing Director to join the team located in Johannesburg.

Primary Objectives and Tasks:
Strategic Planning and Review Continually focuses on developing the business through building customer relationships and ensuring that resources are prepared to manage this growth i.e. a robust but realistic succession plan is in place.Identifies tracks and influences key KPI and financial performance metrics to deliver required performance levels.Presents a well thought out regional review that ensures no surprises, no untruths and sufficient challenge of presented data has taken place to validate the content.Actively support the success of CBRE Excellerate Local & Enterprise business.Quality and Safety Management Monitors and identifies areas for improvement as a matter of course.Creates a culture of exceptional quality and innovation.Sets an example of exceptional standards in all activities, language and communications.Identifies and acts on safety trends and reports to create interventions to protect the business, our people and drive continuous safety improvement.Ensures mandatory processes are in place and are compliant including but not limited to; line management auditing, QHSE objective setting and tracking, Dynamic RA, H&S scenario training.People Management Ensures the team has the skills and motivation to carry out their roles to the best of their abilities. This includes all staff attending the Company induction day and mandatory relevant training.Is constantly visible and accessible to the team.Ensures all staff are appraised annually and all managers are formally trained in the appraisal process, and from this development plans put in place and followed through.No member of direct team to have ambiguity over scorecard targets, objectives, continual achievement against these targets or their perceived general performance.Trains, develops, inducts & mentors direct reports and builds a culture of continual development.Builds a robust succession plan for the regional operations, using management development programmes and local development activities to ensure ready and able candidates are available.Encourages a culture of co-operation and teamwork within the country operations, ensuring that staff are recognized and rewarded as appropriate, through local mechanisms, the completion of bonus scorecards, supporting the Exceptional Awards and social activities.Customer Relations Represents CBRE Excellerate in a professional and credible manner to customers and the public.Builds and develops high-level customer relationships with both existing and potential customers through fully understanding their needs and demands.Focuses on ensuring excellent service levels are maintained at all times.Is accessible and responsive to customers at all times.Ensure customers perceive exceptional value though ensuring leadership of strategic meetings, strategic workshops, relationship workshops, professional reporting standards and exceptional quality (Innovation and Improvement pack) charters being in place.Organises specific high level social engagements with suitable customers in line with any existing company policy that builds and strengthens non work environment relationships.Business Development and Marketing Supports tender bid activity which includes operational resourcing, processes and sign offs.Identifies and targets in partnership with BDM community, suitable quality and volume of work to enhance growth and value in the overall company.Ensures transitions of new clients onboarded successfully, working closely with BTO.Operational Management Ensures robust contract reviews are led by accounts operations leads with check and challenge of detail and are used as coaching and development opportunities.Ensures high operations standards including front and back of house areas.Ensures that we live up to CBRE Excellerate brand promise and that the service offering is at all times fully evidenced on all sites.Active involvement in mobilisation and transition activity to ensure that CBRE Excellerate and customer expectations are met and that all mobilisations are signed off at exec level.Ensures fair treatment of suppliers, professional supplier management and arbitration of disputes.Works closely with the procurement team to ensure maximum use of preferred suppliers and ensure robust back-to-back contracts are in place that are performance focused.With the mindset of continuous improvement keeping up with new innovations in the market to bring to the table to enhance client experience.
Financial & Asset Management 1.Takes appropriate actions indicated by variances to ensure revenue, operating profit, working capital and bookings targets are met and continually improved upon without compromising exceptional service standards or customer relationships.
Takes responsibility to ensure that all clients are billed correctly and timeously.Work closely with the relevant financial managers in South Africa and the different business units to ensure that monthly targets are met, and financials are represented as true and accurate.Totally owns the SSA P&L including operational spend for actuals, budgets and forecasts.Driving team to build a culture of growth and sustainability.Cross Selling 1.Work closely with the Managing Director of Advisory & Transaction (A&T) for Africa and the Head of Property Management for SSA, to identify local business opportunities outside of Facilities Management
Accountabilities Reports to the Chief Executive OfficerAccountable to CBRE Excellerate executive and governance bodies.Decision making authority: Subject to the mandate as received from Chief Executive Officer

Experience / Education: 10 years' experience in the Facilities Management industry. A Business-related tertiary qualification would be a recommendation.

Skills required: Effective leadership; Team building and Interpersonal Skills; Self motivator and Independent thinker; above average communication skills (including ability to present to all levels); Excellent organizational skills; Ability to manage a very technical and operational environment; Needs a technical understanding and knowledge of FM methodologies. Has a big-picture mentality that can create a vision and mission for the department.
Knowledge required: Customer market understanding; Business procedures, rule, processes and values; Legislation and Regulations; Computer literate; Managerial Skills, Financial Skills
