The main purpose of the Deputy Housekeeping Manager at Malewane Lodge, is to assist the Executive Housekeeper in supervising and controlling the cleaning and servicing of all Suites, public areas, offices and staff accommodation, in accordance with the standards and procedures. All of this to ensure that we exceed our company purpose, which is "to give our guests a complete experience and a perfect stay" . MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Manage, and co-ordinate housekeeping staff - rosters, attendance, performance, training, uniforms, appearance, guest service levels, etc. Ensure that all procedures and SOPs are followed at all times Ensure all staff are trained/aware of any emergency procedures, as well as occupational health standards within the property Oversee storerooms and manage stock levels for linen, amenities and uniforms Action all guest requests and ensure guest laundry service runs smoothly Regular on the job training with staff to ensure standards are being maintained Attend meetings and communicate regularly with other departments and Lodge management to ensure smooth operations and guest satisfaction REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS Must have at least 2 years in a Deputy Housekeeping Manager role Must have at least 4 years in Housekeeping in a 5* hotel environment Knowledge of the Property Management System, Opera, Excel, Word, Outlook. Exceptional attention to detail High guest service focus Ability to lead a team, motivate, energise and train Ability to multitask with excellent organisational skills, and time management Must be willing to work shifts Proven job reliability, diligence and dedication It is important that the candidate is able to work as part of a team and is a good cultural fit for The Royal Portfolio.
