St Alban's College, one of South Africa's leading independent boys' boarding and day schools in Pretoria, seeks to appoint a suitable individual with remarkable talent and character to fill this key strategic, management and leadership role in the College. The ideal candidate will be a specialist teacher who is well entrenched in the IEB environment and has a proven and successful track record.
St Alban's College has enjoyed growth in both numbers and stature over the past decade and more. In order to grow its brand and further develop its good academic name and key relationships, the College needs to appoint a Deputy Head: Academic Affairs of significance.
The Mission of the Deputy Head: Academic Affairs is to promote collaboration and discipline-based academic endeavour, and to support and develop teaching and learning as a vital part of the St Alban's College education experience.
The Deputy Head: Academic Affairs will coordinate all academic affairs, help develop and promote curriculum innovation, and establish an authentic and rigorous culture of academic endeavour and excellence.
The appointee will lead, manage, monitor and review all our academic programmes and faculty on an ongoing basis. Strong communication, presentation, research, motivational and mentor skills are required. Experience in managing the academic faculty in a reputable school is a minimum requirement.
The appointee will be a member of our Senior Executive team and will be responsible for ensuring a sense of belonging and raising academic standards.
Key requirements for the post: A suitable professional qualification, preferably post-graduate as well as a SACE registration is mandatoryAt least 5-10 years previous experience in a leadership position within an Independent IEB School would be advantageousHave the ability to network and research leading trends in the industrySignificant experience in the IEB systemExcellence in leading people and staff developmentMust be proactive, creative and have the ability to identify trends and analyse academic dataHave moral and intellectual integrityPossess empathy and excellent communication and presentation skillsExperience in developing a culture of belonging and developing authentic cultures of learning and thinkingHave the ability to lead a diverse teamWillingness to participate in the broader extra-mural programme of the schoolPlease see the full Job Description on the following link:https://bit.ly/4dxTdrs
