MISSION: The objective for this role is responsible for overseeing the accounts receivable function, ensuring the timely collection of outstanding debts, and maintaining positive relationships with clients to facilitate the prompt payment of debtor invoices.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bcom degree, Finance, or a related field3 years experience in finance at supervisory / management levelOUTCOMES: DEBT COLLECTION: Implement and manage the debt collection process. Contact clients via phone, email, or other communication channels to follow up on overdue payments. Negotiate payment plans and terms with clients when necessary. Record all communication with clients regarding outstanding debts.INVOICE MANAGEMENT: Generate and dispatch accurate and timely invoices to clients. Ensure that invoices are correctly matched to purchase orders and other supporting documentation, including service deliverables. Resolve any billing discrepancies or issues promptly.CREDIT RISK ASSESSMENT: Assess the creditworthiness of new and existing clients. Set appropriate credit limits and terms for clients. Monitor changes in clients' financial situations that may impact credit risk.REPORTING: Prepare regular reports on the status of outstanding debts, aging reports, and collections progress. Provide management with insights into cash flow forecasts based on receivables.CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT: Build and maintain positive relationships with clients to facilitate prompt payment. Address and resolve client inquiries related to invoices or account statements.PROCESS IMPROVEMENT: With the Financial Manager, Identify opportunities for process improvement within the accounts receivable function.
