Job Title: Coordinator: Materials Weir Minerals Isando Onsite Purpose of Role: To make sure Weir has all the products, materials, equipment and supplies that are needed to operate efficiently in ways that are aligned to established policies and standards, also oversee inventory management processes and resolve any issues that arise.

Key Responsibilities: Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture Assisting Production: Determining the required materials and generating purchase orders, and subcontracting orders Performing complete inventory checks of all stock and supplies Effective reporting at a senior level by providing feedback on the state of production Manage Cost: Ensuring materials meet specifications, quality standards, and are cost-efficient. Preparing cost estimates and performance reports. Understanding economic batch sizes. Consistent application of JIT principles in production loading Quality Assurance: Demonstrate 100% commitment towards zero defects and process improvements. Use 5-Why's and A3 tools for scrap countermeasures and preventative measurements Implementation of sustainable systems to control daily targets and outputs. Use of velocity reports to manage lead time and aging. Use of OTD reports to manage delivery. Use of availability reports to manage delivery. Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications: Strong knowledge of SAP Diploma or related qualification in Production Management, Logistics, Inventory management, or a related field preferred. 2 years' experience in a manufacturing environment (in production planning) Administrative experience in the manufacturing industry (pump/process manufacturing environment would be an advantage) Exposure to and implementation of lean manufacturing Implementation and maintenance of the OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001 standards Founded in 1871, Weir is a world leading engineering business with a purpose to make mining operations smarter, more efficient and sustainable.
