Valid Drivers licenseYour MissionCommercial Marketing is the function within Marketing that takes responsibility for marketing the PUMA brand within both Retail and Trade (Sport and Sportstyle), Ecommerce, Full Price Stores, Outlets, Pop Ups and Concession Stores, as well as to their consumers.
The key responsibility of the Commercial Marketing Manager – Wholesale is to bring the brand to life through integrated, innovative and industry leading campaigns and activations, maximizing brand exposure, desirability and sell through within wholesale spaces (key accounts and independents). This includes planning and executing the local Commercial Marketing strategy in collaboration with the Teamhead Commercial Marketing, and working cross functionally with the Consumer Marketing, Sports and Sportstyle Marketing, Sales, Merchandise and Operations teams to deliver best in class marketing activities across South Africa. Tasks include but are not limited to window and in-store branding, digital campaigns, social media & PR, experiential executions and activations, promotions, localized shoots, influencer seeding, and internal and external communication.
KEY TASKS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Plan the local Commercial Marketing plan in alignment with the global and local strategy, to optimize brand exposure, desirability and drive sell through for key accounts and independents.
2. Manage the development, production and execution of window and in-store brand campaigns for wholesale partners, with a focus on driving sell through of Brand Key Initiatives. Develop clear briefs for third party agencies and submit briefs well in advance of launch dates.
3. Collaborate with key accounts and independents to generate social media plans for continuous and consistent flow of communication of Brand Key Initiatives.
4. Explore and develop promotional and experiential activities for wholesale partners internally or with agencies i.e. local football team kit launch in-store; giveaways; customer trips overseas, etc. Align closely with the Manager Wholesale Concepts and team to service SIS spaces where required.
5. Develop and maintain close working relationships with the PUMA team (Consumer Marketing, Sports and Sportstyle Marketing, Sales, Merchandise and Operations teams) as well as key account partners, independents and third party agencies, in order to secure priority spaces and execute best in class campaigns and sell through for the brand. Manage up-to-date knowledge of current trends and competitor activities. Manage agencies to develop innovative and cost-effective sell through support solutions.
6. Budget Management: Maximise impact with minimum spend. Use sustainability initiatives, cost-effective solutions and reduce agency costs. Budget planning, monthly tracking and reporting.
