An opportunity exists for an exceptional Choir Conductor and Vocal Teacher (independent contractor) to join the school from as soon as possible to lead the Chapel and Chamber Choirs for Grades 5 – 7. As an Anglican school, the choirs play an important role in the school's chapel services as they lead the worship in Eucharists and other church events and a few secular performances.
Required Qualifications and Experience: Relevant music diploma/ degree.Teaching qualification from a recognised institution.Minimum of 3 years teaching experience.Experience of leading and developing choirs and can balance the needs of singers with varied abilities, making music accessible for all.Experience in using Sibelius software to do choir arrangements.Experience in primary school vocal coaching and have experience in teaching and entering voice pupils for the ABRSM and TCL voice exams.Proficiency in playing the piano (or another instrument) would be advantageous.SACE RegistrationCandidates should have the following attributes: A clear love of music which they enthusiastically share with their students.Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills.A willingness to support and mentor, and to be mentored.A willingness to collaborate with all members of the music department in a positive, respectful and open-minded way.A values-based approach to teaching.The flexibility, ability, and willingness to work outside school hours, when necessary.The intention is to work according to the school's ethos specifications, and policies.Duties (not an exhaustive list): The preferred candidate will be offered two full mornings of voice pupils (paid for by the parents) and will lead choir rehearsals on the following afternoons:
