Job Description

Grinding Superintendent function is responsible for the grinding of Large Carbide and WC substrates
The role will report to the Oil & Gas Pre-Synthesis Manager
In order to be effective, the chosen candidate needs to display the following:
Have strong supervisory skills with the ability to manage and oversee production operations in Pre-Synthesis
Be able to manage area specific production planning and scheduling
Can enforce a strong culture of HSE at all levels of operations

Duties and Tasks
Broad level experience in JDE work order (WO) management
Scheduling of production in line with operational needs and global supply chain demands
Planning production to maximise efficiencies and throughput with resources on hand
Manage production teams to ensure motivation is high and e6 safety standards are adhered to
Manage set of technical production projects in collaboration with other E6 sites e.g. DECAR
Maintain component requirements in line with Kanban requirements for the area whilst maintaining conditioning area rules, protocols and procedures
Oversight in production quality requirements, maintaining standards and having overall accountability on production delivery targets being met
Ensure responsibility for stock accuracy and management by liaising with relevant departments
Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards
Support quality final product throughout according to customer requirements i.e. ZAPRO and IEPRO

Qualifications

Required qualifications include:
Diploma in Engineering, preferably Mechanical Engineering with 2 years supervisory and/management experience within an operational environment or
N6 certificate in Mechanical Engineering with 5 years supervisory and/management experience within an operational environment
Proven experience and ability in driving Process Confirmations, JDE management and stock control whilst leading an HSE culture from the frontline
Experience in e6 production systems including whiteboard reporting, JDE management, STAC and WRACs, and safety file management.

Criteria Skills and Competencies
Manage and lead high performing teams with good conflict management abilities
Mentoring and Coaching skills
Decision making skills
Problem Solving techniques being able to facilitate and employ shop floor PPS sessions
Understanding of technical aspects related to grinding processes, with ability to analyse and evaluate product quality in line with changes in operational processes
