Overall Purpose of the Job:
Reporting to the Brand Financial Manager the incumbent will be responsible for providing efficient and effective accounting services and cost control to the Brand and the campus Principals. Responsibilities will include detailed analysis, reconciliation, compliance, financial and management reporting, risk detection and control. Incumbent will be required to visit the campuses and offer the necessary financial support and advice and do asset verification.
Key Performance Areas: Financial Planning, Forecasting and Budgeting:
Compile detailed budget per Campus per account after consultation with Management and detailed analysis of historical dataAssist and support Principals and Managers during the budget compilation processMonitor and track performance and liaise with Principals in this regardConduct variance analysis and advise Principals and BFM accordinglyUndertake trend analysis, monthly highlighting areas of concernLiaise with Group Shared Services(GSS) regarding revenue collection, outstanding payments and fixed assetsFinancial/Management Accounting Perform reconciliation of billing and payments received, monthly and annuallyBalance and confirm inter-company loansProvide financial support and guidance to Principals and the Brand Management teamPrepare GL recon of complex accounts as determined by the businessReview of all recons prepared by JBA or FAHandle queries from Campus and interacts with GSS to resolve themFinancial/Management Reporting Analyse financial performance of individual CampusCollate and analyse financial performance information in respect of the Brand/brandsPrepare reports accurately and timeously monthly, quarterly and annuallyPrepare cash flow, weekly and forward to BFMPrepare monthly management accounts, meeting requisite deadlinesPrepare monthly MANCO report meeting requisite deadlines Compliance Ensure company financial policies and procedures are adhered to, at Campus and within Brand/BrandsParticipate in the audit process (Internal and external) and provides relevant information and support to auditors as required. Deals with queries ,as necessary, and escalates matters when requiredCarry out appropriate action to remedy audit findings and limit the riskProvide Principals and relevant staff in Campus with required trained regarding financial policies and proceduresSign off monthly audit files and ensure all month/year end journals are processedApprove expenditure in line with authorisation matrix.Ensure timeous submission of statutory returns for Brand/BrandsIdentify and report on non-compliance across the BrandStaff Management Ensure the workflow is managed on a day two day basis and ensure deadlines are met.Ensure identification of critical skills essential for sustainability of service delivery to the brandEnsure staff are adequately trainedQualification Requirements:
Minimum - B. Com Financial Accounting Ideal –Honours / Post graduate degreed Financial AccountingExperience Requirements:
• Financial & Management Accounting - year(s) 7years
• Management of staff - year(s) 2 years
