CORE PURPOSE OF JOBTo facilitate learning, teaching and research with under- and post-graduate psychology studentsTo contribute specifically within the area of Counselling and Clinical Psychology, both to student development and to the Department itselfTo process and administer all aspects in the area of Counselling and Clinical Psychology within the DepartmentKEY PERFORMANCE AREASLeadership in the facilitation of academic developmentLeadership in facilitating learning, including e-learningDevelopment, revision and evaluation of learning, teaching and support materialsProvision of teaching, mentoring and clinical supervisionProvision of research supervision at post-graduate and doctoral levelsDeveloping and managing individual and group researchCarry out departmental and faculty administrative and management dutiesInvolvement in community engagementCORE COMPETENCIES Expert knowledge and grounding in Counselling and Clinical PsychologyExtensive experience in the facilitation of learning and teaching at under- and post-graduate levelsSound IT knowledge and expertise in technology for blended learningClinical and research supervision of Honours, Masters and Doctoral studentsKnowledge of program and curriculum developmentExperience in preparation of publications for journals and/or the preparation of presentations/papers for national and international conferencesMINIMUM REQUIREMENTSDoctoral degree in PsychologyMinimum of three years registration as a Counselling psychologist or as a Clinical Psychologist with the Professional Board for Psychology of the Health Professions Council of South AfricaEmerging national recognition for teaching scholarshipTrack record of experience in research, development and supervisionTrack record of publications in accredited national and international journalsTrack record of presentations in national and international conferencesFive years experience in facilitating learning at under- and post-graduate levelsSound experience in the broad academic discipline of PsychologyCLOSING DATE FOR APPLICATIONS: 16 September 2020Please note that no late applications are accepted.Important information:Candidates are to provide a cover letter detailing their skills match to the post requirements, an updated CV, ID and Drivers License and certified copies of qualifications.
