Job DescriptionPerform routine analytical techniques relate to the established Laboratory procedures.Responsibility to log received samples into the SLIMS using work orders from the client.Responsibility of analyzing all analytical samples using the correct procedures and/or methods.Responsibility to print sample labels.Responsibilities to ensure samples are sorted correctly before labeling and boxing the samples.Responsibility to report results within the time frame specified.Responsibility to follow all quality directives of this Department.Responsible for operation of laboratory instrumentationResponsibility to bring all problems (technical and managerial) to the attention of the Chemist.Responsibility to adhere to all quality, health and safety rules and regulations.Responsibility to ensure that the housekeeping in the receiving /working areas are in order.Complies and conforms to Laboratory Quality Management System (ISO17025).Must be able to help with the preparation of SANAS audits.Responsibility to record any day-to-day repairs, maintenance, calibration and verification of instruments.All analytical data and calculations shall be made traceable and stored in the relevant files for that purpose or LIMS.Responsibility to work in other areas and/or Divisions if asked to do so.Adhere to all quality and safety requirements of the SGS management system.Follow Supervisors clear detailed instructions and demonstrate flexibility in executing duties.Perform any other reasonable tasks as assigned by direct line manager.QualificationsBSc, BTech or National Diploma in Analytical Chemistry and Bachelor of Science ( in Geology/or proven years of laboratory, knowledge, skills and experience sufficient to be recognized as a qualification through – Recognition of Prior Learning.Grade 12 / Matric or N3 with Mathematics and Science as subjects.
