Pearson Marketing Cloud (PMC) is our Global Technology Platform that enables customers to access learning products and services through eCommerce and Digital Marketing journeys. We are looking for a hands-on , technical lead with extensive experience of large-scale global Adobe Experience Manager ( AEM ) implementations. Our mission is to deliver re-usable components within a single codebase and across multiple AEM instances , which is then used by business es across Pearson globally to create websites for sales and marketing purposes.

As an AEM technical lead you will:
Lead the a rchitecture of the global AEM platform, including integrations and scalab ility.
Perform t echnical design and hands-on development of applications and solutions based on Adobe Experience Manager (AEM ) .
Engage with other Technical Leads, Solutions Architect s and Enterprise Architect s to find and solve gaps in the technical direction.
Lead , manag e and support a team of developers (both internal and partner supplied). Ensur e that the technical work of the team is performed to an excellent standard.
Have o wnership , responsibility, direct ion and technical decision making for a small engineering team.
Perform c ode reviews and manage the complex code base for all PMC AEM applications.
Active ly monitor & manage risks to the code - based delivery.
Identify and manage technical debt.
Coordinat e and collaborat e with PMC Support, BAU and DevOps teams to ensure our platform delivery meets the needs of ourselves and our customers.
Coordinat e and collaborat e with the Quality Assurance Team to support test activities.
Coordinat e and collaborat e with the Front-End Development Team to build & style templates and components.
Assist project managers to scope and define new projects.
Lead the ongoing enhancement of the AEM CI/CD processes to ensure that regular releases can be tested and deployed in an efficient automated manner.
Oversee the AEM patch management process.
Qualifications
Skills & Abilities
B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent, with strong fundamentals and problem-solving skills .
Strong technical credentials with 7+ years development experience in Java.
Significant experience with building, launching and managing complex websites on the Adobe Experience Manager (4+ years)
Significant hands -on experience building server - side technologies and platforms using Java, S ervlets, OSGi , Maven.
Established track record of designing and developing simple solutions to complex problems.
Experienced in designing scalable solutions, writ ing efficient code, optimizing performance and debugging issues.
Knowledge and experience in implementing large scale commercial web applications
Comfortable working in a fast paced, multi- tasking, dynamic environment.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences, both technical and non - technical.
